Ya they have health services too. Might be a step up in options or a membership fee or something but it's good stuff to know.

She's Scottish. Got a family crest and some castle ruins over there and everything. Her clan is from one of the northernmost counties in Scotland and is believed to have been started in the 12th century by a guy who came there from the Orkney Isles.

The Norse made it to both those places in the 11th century, hence she got a little of @Jehannum 's people in her.

Also her clan and another clan got in a feud in the 1400's where they were raiding each other's castles and stealing their women and stuff. The chieftains of the two clans finally got together and agreed to bury the hatchet......in 1978.

These people can hold a grudge for 500 years and I'm living with one of them.

The boy collected a Hamilton AN 5740 24 hour pocketwatch that used to belong to my grandfather.

Hopefully he takes a little better care of it than he did the Heinz Timex that he dropped in a puddle, because it's worth substantially more.

I'm still contemplating doing it out of curiosity. Everyone in the family knows the history from the time we emigrated to the US until now but information from the old country is damn sparse. Nobody really kept track of it or passed it down they just became Americans.
In very broad terms Mom's side is from far enough north they've been accused of being Danish before, and Dad's side is from far enough northeast some of it might be in what is now Poland.
Of course pollacks being some of the dumbest people on earth we just ignore that and be Germans.

All those areas were "germanic" back then but Germany as it's own country didn't exist until the 1870's. Moms side emigrated later 1880s, Dads side in 1900. Basically during the rise of nationalism and got out pre-world war one.

so she's part Sasquatch ?

wow never would have guessed the German one.
pretty cool mix!
I actually have been asked a fair amount if I’m Eastern European. I always said no cause I only knew about the English/Finnish but a couple uncles have done the dna thing and they came back as like 20% German. We have one grandpa that ran away from home so it’s been tricky tracking his line. He’s the one that’s German. (My great great grandpa) he’s also the reason I have a Native American maiden name, but am not Native American. He fell in with a tribe of Cherokees when he got to America.

I’m just sitting in a parking lot in Vegas waiting for my kids’ plane to take off so I can head home and of course they are delayed. Should have boarded 30 min ago and instead just waiting.
