Ontopic Health Thread: post your AIDS, diseases and infekshunz here.

So grand total billed to insurance FY2023, $350,000. Not including pharmacy costs (billed through CVSCaremark who doesn't provide billing info), or transplant stuff (I impressed the transplant staff or something so they're waiving everything), no deductible, no copay.

Seems like ER visits run between 10k and 20k depending on how much testing they do, I was not charged for ambulance rides tho . Inpatient is anything from 30k-76k not including procedures and Dr visits, everytime a doctor walks into the room is about $250. Primary care is $400-900 per visit. The one liver consult I was charged for was $700.

So, turns out when you are sedentary, have a high stress job, and dont bother with fitness you get fat.

Only time I see my weight is when i go see the doc. I'm up 20lbs this years to 190. I'm 5'11 so that aint exactly ok.

Starting tracking my food today, today was a thoughtful day, but I didnt change much and im at around a 700 calorie deficit, so if i can keep that up I should be able to get healthy again.

I dont drink soda, no chips/junkfood/etc, dont drink alcohol, fried foods are rare, so my diet is pretty good, but i'll chop down portion sizes as needed, and be very conscious of my choices. No dessert, no snacks for a while until I get the hang of how much im eating.

Strange thing is, I didnt even notice. All my pants and shirts still fit fine, I havent noticed any major pudginess, although i certainly dont have a 6-pack.

Here goes nothin, need to be healthy.

Hey I'm 5'11" too, no one evr believes that height until they measure you >.<

Salad is a great way to get full without really having to worry about portion size. Im on the "Mediterranean" diet, which is like solid leafy greens, froot, nuts and seafood, almost no sugar or salt added.

Exercise is important too. I walk everywhere cause I live right in Baltimore and lots of the time it's faster than the bus.

I woke up feeling like shit Monday with a fever. Wrapped up in a blanket and took it easy at home. Was fine on Tuesday. Why are you thanking science? This is how colds work.

Probably a body composition change too if you used to be active. I experienced a shift once I was at a desk job. Added a daily workout and even 15 minutes made a big difference.

If you're at a desk, try a standing one with a treadmill you can walk on. Shit is amazing

nope, those are bound to be broken. I can math my way outta this thing. Im using the lowest possible activity factor for burn rate, and tracking very accurately intake. Normal humans would fudge one of those, and then complain when calories deficits dont work. Not a problem for robots.
