Thread Poop-litical 2024 and beyond thread

You got all these tent cities popping up at college campuses. Makes you wonder who’s financing it all.

All these college kids got money for fancy REI tents?
Lotta food pantries give out tents. Most Columbia students aren't exactly the working full time going to night school type tho...

The one who keeps spamming the UNM subreddit's bio is "Queer enby anarchist in Albuquerque, NM"

So, yeah.
It just occurred to me that a queer enby anarchist would be on the short list for a date with the edge of a tall building in Palestine.

It is sad a lot of innocent Palestinians have been killed. However, it's also sad a bunch of innocent Israeli's were killed enjoying a music festival on October 6th as well as women, children, and elderly Jewish people being taken hostage for no other reason than they're Jewish. This would end if Hamas would release those hostages. All these protesters seem to overlook that fact.

Also, there are no pure actors over there. Everyone is in some way complicit, and it's been shitty there for thousands of years.

dude, its not even remotely proportional, thats the problem.

Hamas has killed ~1500 israelis, which is terrible. Israel has responded disproportionally and killed ~35000 Palestinians.

Of those 35000, that included 14,000 CHILDREN, 97 journalists and 224 humanitarian aid workers

Hamas are a bunch of assholes, but the evil they have done far pales in comparison to the unequivocal slaughter of civilians the israeli's have carried out.

It would also end if Israel stopped. As @Domon said, its proportion. No one was upset when they attacked - initially. What they are doing now is a straight up war crime.

I don't disagree but this isn't going to stop until the hostages are released.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but what's the ratio of Afghanis and Iraqis to people killed in 9/11?
US ain't the good guys either, but to also put that in perspective, 46,319 Afghani civilians were killed over 15 years. Israel killed nearly that many in 6 months.

...if you believe the numbers coming from the Hamas leadership, and the numbers that the US put on Afghani casualties.
Those are numbers from independent sources. Specifically the Watson institute for the Afghani numbers and the United nations for the Palestine numbers
